Thomas Henry Hovendon
Thomas Henry Hovendon was born in 1841, died in 1903 and served the company from December 1861.
He lived at Coed Y Bleiddiau and by the time the cottage was constructed, he had become described as Superintendant of the Line. By 1884, the title had become general Inspector
He is recorded as still resident in 1901 and working for the company.
He married twice, firstly to Mary Anne who died in 1873, and subsequently to Isabella.
He had 7 children, Jane b. 1867, Francis b.1869 and John R. b.1873, all to Mary Anne and Thomas b.1879, Henry b.1880 and Maria b. 1884 to Isabella.
He can be seen in many FR photos and it can only be assumed that when someone applied to take photos of the line, Hovendon was sent to accompany them and probably arrange for rolling stock to be positioned as the photographer requested. He would then make sure he was in the picture.
He died on December 30th 1903 and is buried in Maentwrog Churchyard.
