Signalman, born Penrhyn, 1845.
Recorded in census as signalman in 1901 and 1911, living at one of the Tunnel Cottages. He was employed there from at least 1898. One of his duties was to walk through the tunnel each morning before the first Quarrymen's train. Brother of William and uncle of Timothy Phillips.
In 1905 he requested a house in Penrhyn but does not appear to have got it.
