Born London 1839, died Hampshire 1892. Chaloner W Chute was a director of the NWNGR from 1877 until he retired by rotation at the half-yearly meeting on 29 March 1889 as the number of Directors had been reduced from 7 to 4 at the previous meeting on 28 September 1888 due to problems getting a quorum. However another Director (J. Lloyd) died 6 days earlier, so he kept his seat on the Board which he held until his death in 1892. He was also a shareholder in the Moel Tryfan Rolling Stock Co. Ltd. He was barrister and his family lived on the Vyne Estate in Hampshire.
