David Morgan
Signalman, Boston Lodge Cabin.
Born in 1864 in Ffestiniog or more likely Maentwrog. In 1911 living at Tan y Bryn, Penrhyn. Ten years before that he was an Assurance Agent and ten years before that a Watchmaker. Not what we would call a career railwayman! He first appears in FR records in 1912 but could have been employed by the FR before then as records are incomplete.
He married Catherine in 1887 and they had 3 children.
It appears that his job in the signalbox did not fill his time and he spent the time when he was not needed there as a sawyer in the works.

David Morgan is possibly the person in the photo known as Boyd26H. (click here to see) This photo is labelled "A Group taken in the Works Yard before the First War". It is believed to be around 1913. It is not all staff from the yard at that time. There was a list attached to the original which declares who the people are. This person is believed to be in the third row from the back and the eleventh person from the left handside.
