Day Log/1836-04-20

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

On this date, although writing many years later, Samuel Holland Jnr. wrote describing events of the opening day.

"....we all came down without horses, the inclination being sufficient to enable us to do so ... over the embankment the horses rode at the tail of the train, in boxes (Dandy Wagon), made purposely, feeding all the way."[1]

One wonders if the horses were so placid in this new environment.
