On this day, F.W.A Roche wrote to Spooner regarding the possibility of the sale of the railway, and the harbour. He had been asked to enquire this information, but would not reveal who the prospective purchasers were.
He wrote again, on 27 July 1885, having met with his clients, and indicated a forthcoming further meeting, promising to inform Spooner of the outcome. Nothing further is known [1]
