Eamonn Seddon [1]

Eamonn worked for Eileen Clayton in the early 1990s with the Buildings Department before joining the Marketing Department. He was put in charge of all public facing departments when Alan Heywood became General Manager. This allowed Alan to concentrate on WHR public enquiries and the setting up of a completely new railway operation.

Eamonn coined the name Rheilffordd Eryri and his department designed the now familiar Welsh red dragon within a garter emblem long in everyday use. He often manned show stands for the railways. He was instrumental in setting up Steam & Cuisine working with Hotel Maes y Neuadd. He brought Thomas the Tank Engine events to the railway and made a great fat Controller. He was a popular manager and team member.

In early 2000 he moved to Tasmania to be the first General Manager of the West Coast Wilderness Railway. He moved on to be CEO of Puffing Billy Railway near Melbourne, then owner operator of Prestige Tours Tasmania and finally General Manager of the Don River Railway at Devonport, Tasmania.

Eamonn was a keen musician, playing the cello. He left a daughter Carys and his wife Linda.
