Born in Derby in 1833. Married to Eliza Mercy
Duffws FR Station Master from 1865 to 1871. It is believed that his wife worked with him as a clerk, a position which was later taken by his son (Thomas Vale ).
In 1881 he was working in London as a solicitors clerk.
Took part in the hearings in relation to the 1869 Act.[1]
