FRHG Project 1435

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

Project 1435 is a proposal to reform voting systems in Australia, America, and the Rest of the world.

According to Donald Trump America's voting system is exceedingly corrupt, to which the writer of this report adds irredeemably bureaucratic.

Trump wants paper based ballots which is what Australia uses even with Tablecoth-sized Senate ballot papers which exceed the width of the polling booths.

Trump also wants Same Day elections but this would not work in Australia with its electorates of sizes greater than the biggest American States.

Australia is gradually automating its voting and counting systems, but is proceeding slowly so as to wait for computer systems to be debugged.

A few changes are still needed:

FRHG Voter ID is a contentuous issue.
Nationwide Rolls are needed to prevent illegal multiple voting, but this depends on appropriate software and telephone links.
Culling of Candidate especially on Senate elections is needed to reduce the number of tiny parties on those enormous ballots.
As we speak, Australia is about to debate the issue of Campaign Financing to stop going down the path of America's grotesquely expensive system.

All in All, Australia's voting system works well with few complaints; when the Coalition arrowl won the "[[Miracle Election" which the Opposition expected to win, tears wwere shed. It didn't help that Labor said one thing is some places and different things in other places. Australia's non-partisan Electoral Commission is highly trusted to conduction elections fairly and efficiently and the same is said for State and Local elections which are run equally weel.
