Fairlie Engine And Steam Carriage Company
George England's Hatcham Iron Works were taken over by the Fairlie Engine & Steam Carriage Company in September 1869. Locomotives were built at the same South London works where the single England engines were built for the FR. The leading light of the enterprise was Robert Francis Fairlie.
