Help:Enhanced recent changes

If you have logged in, you can set your preferences to use the enhanced recent changes feature instead of the normal Recent changes. Note that the enhanced recent changes feature will only work correctly on browsers that support Javascript.

With this option selected, all changes made to a page on a particular day are grouped together. Only the most recent change is shown with a blue arrow next to it. Clicking on this arrow reveals details of all the changes.

The related changes page and your watchlist are both special versions of the recent changes page. Selecting the enhanced recent changes option will affect these pages as well.

Composition of lines

Pages for which there is only one edit

The line shows:

• the time of the edit
• the page name - this is a link to the current version of the page
• diff, linking to a page showing the changes made in this edit
• hist linking to the page history
• the name or ip address of the user who made the change, linked to his or her user page
• Talk, linking to the user's talk page
• Contribs, linking to a list of contributions made by this user
• the edit summary

Pages for which there are multiple edits

The top line, which is the only one shown before clicking on the arrow, shows:

• the time of the most recent edit
• the page name - this is a link to the current version of the page
• number of edits during the day concerned (if it is the oldest day covered by this Enhanced Recent Changes page: restricted by the total number of edits covered by this page). This links to a page showing the cumulative changes made by these edits
• Page history linking to the page history
• a list of the users who made the changes, linked to their user pages and showing the number of changes made by each user

Clicking on the blue arrow reveals a list of the changes. Each line shows:

• time, linked to the page version created at this time
• cur, linking to a page showing the changes betwen this version and the current version of the page
• last, linking to a page showing the changes made in this edit
• a number in brackets showing the change in page size. If the change significantly reduced the size of the page, the number will be in bold. The number will be green if the page has grown, red if it has shrunk
• the name or ip address of the user who made the change, linked to his or her user page
• Talk, linking to the user's talk page
• Contribs, linking to a list of contributions made by this user
• the edit summary
