Son of Charles Edwin Spooner

Born 1883 died 1937.

Educated at Marlborough, he joined the Federated Malay States Railways (FMSR) as Junior Assistant Engineer in 1903 and became District Engineer in 1912[1]. From 1915 to 1919 he served with the Royal Field Artillery and RGA, emerging a major with an MC. He was Senior District Engineer 1921 and Engineer for Construction 1925 - 27 and Chief Engineer 1929 - 1937. He died at sea, of cancer, whilst returning on leave from Penang. His wife Beryl (from a planter family) died not long afterwards of the proverbial "broken heart".
