From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

John Conacher was Company Secretary for the Cambrian Railway at the time of the charges discussions around 1886.[1]

He had joined the company in 1865, and served as Secretary from 1882 to 1891, also as Receiver for a period of financial difficulty in 1884, then as General Manager from 1890 to 1891[2]. He was also briefly Manager of the Neath & Brecon Railway in 1891, until later the same year when he left to become General Manager of the North British Railway until 1899. By 1909 he was Managing Director of the Barry Railway. He returned to the Cambrian as Chairman from 1909 until his death in 1911. [3]
