It is believed that this one was born in Abergele in 1828.
He is recorded as working for the FR in 1863 as a moulder, later to become foundry foreman. In February 1902, at the age of 76, John Jones had given up his work in the foundry. The board resolved to allow him 5/- (25p) per week for a short time, 'as given the other old hands'
