Matisa A05 Tamper

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

Purchased from GTRM for use on the WHR (C), this machine had previously been used on the Docklands Light Railway and Jubilee Line Extension construction projects. It is of metre gauge design widened out to standard gauge.

The purchase was completed in early January 2002 and the machine was delivered from Crewe to the FR's Glanypwll depot in Blaenau Ffestiniog, where it was regauged. It was ready for use in early October 2002 and was delivered to Betws Garmon, where its first job was to tamp the Waunfawr-Betws Garmon section of the Phase 3 extension. Its body configuration does not currently allow it to be used on the FR.
