Over The Narrowest Narrow Gauge
In December 1878 an American, William H. Bishop, visited the Railway. He penned an article that appeared in August 1879 Edition of Scribner's Monthly.
The article and accompanying engravings have been reprinted in their entirety in The Spooner Album pps 94 - 106.
Highlights of the visit included:
- Bishop meeting Charles Easton and his son, Percy
- A description of a journey up the line, some of which was on the footplate of Little Wonder, in the snow on a quarryman's train (of Quarrymen's Carriages)
- A description of a derailment of Princess at Tanygrisiau
- Portmadoc at Christmastime
- An engraving of the Boat
