Slate Shunt

The slate shunt gives guests an opportunity to drive a steam engine and shunt wagons in Minffordd Yard. 10 wagons are normally used and instructions only detail where the wagons have to be at the end of the shunt - not how to do it! Marks were given for ingenuity, locomotive handling, organisation and teamwork. Marks were taken away for cheating!
Lilla was the normal engine on slate shunt duties.
Due to ongoing track maintainenace in the Yard, the Slate Shunt guest driver operation was suspended. It is hoped to be re-instated shortly.
