Dimensioned drawings[edit]

Is there a dimensioned drawing of David Lloyd George for inspection assuming drawings have been digitised? Gareth Pearce (talk) 12:59, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

The book Fairlie Locomotives of North Wales (available from the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland online shop) has drawings of all the Double Fairlies. They are what I would describe as modeller's drawings showing external elevations. The book also has some additional drawings of boilers etc included in the appendices. Ah...thanks for that and I have seen the book and agree its written for the literature mind and modeller/enthusiast. I am searching for hard line digitised technical drawings. I know they exist and could/should be in the British Library archive to accompany narrow guage patents as a matter of record as should be the permanent way construction drawings, point switching, signalling etc.. The Ffestiniog railway achieved so much and needs to be appreciated. I feel Britain is overlooks the fact the foundation of the economy was constructed on the successes of technical breakthroughs that altered the course of the world. Technical archives are foundational to research and ongoing development in engineering and manufacturing in Germany where the value of technical expertise is taken as seriously as Britsh culture takes Shakespeare. Britain neglects to recognise the value of technical records of inventive geniious preferring to read books that tell stories. Economic resurgance cannot be based on literarature as Harry Potter is only fantassy after all! Gareth Pearce (talk) 11:34, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
