The Wrysgan Flight

From Festipedia, hosted by the FR Heritage Group

The lighthearted nature of Construction of The Deviation was evident in a few signs and stories to confuse unknowing visitors to site.

Prior to rock shifting for Tunnel South Cutting, the Welsh moorland had to be removed by the grandly titled Bog Railways Number 1 and 2. A small, shortlived, lake was the result. The Deviationists' canal restoration roots were highlighted by the erection of a sign to label the feature, correctly using the BW corporate style of yellow on bright blue:

BRITISH WATERWAYS BLAENAU NAVIGATION

SITE OF LOCK 57

WRYSGAN FLIGHT

The sign still exists and was last spotted perched on the wall inside the Noreng works at Glanypwll.
