The Davies connections
Tom and Evan davies volunteered under the new railway after 1954 as drivers. Will did not.
Evan was made redundant from being a fireman around 1930. TheFR mag article was wrong!-I have the information from the archives.

The Boat Accident
I dont know why the account here mentioned the tunnel - it was not mentioned in Cricks diary. However, I do have another account so i think I know where it happened, but I wanted to keep that and the account, for the book I am writing (to be published next year) so I was just keeping the account in festipedia accurate for the moment.

Chris
Hi Mark,
I have been thinking for a while I ought to establish communications with you as we are both regular contributors to Festipedia. You can email me at heritagejim AT yahoo.co.uk. What finally made me make this contact was the picture of the disc signal with the remark about Mr Brown. I think some explanation is needed as to who he is and why he is there. I know it is Peter Asquith and the reference to Mr Brown is that is portraying Brown of Brown-Marshalls but not many people know that. However, I think you are doing a grand job with Festipedia so please keep it up.

Hi Mark The handbrake wheel on 59 being from Palmerston is new to me. However it probably can be checked by back copies of the FRM. I'd leave it as is for the moment Regards Chris Jones
Found the reference - FRM 38 Page 26 - so the use of Palmerston's handbrake wheel is corroborated

Chris
All the FR added stuff such as vac brake and hand wheel was given back to Boston Lodge. I checked.

Chris
No, I am told there is just a pile of stuff somewhere in the works! Chris

Mark The picture you have just put on Robert William's page is wrong. That person is Morris Davies. Robert Williams was not a recognised driver and the General Strike ended in May 1926. Regards Chris J Chrisjones (talk) 19:24, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
Chris
If you are sure it is Morris Davies shall I move the picture to his page which currently does not have one?
Cheers
MarkTemple (talk) 20:03, 19 February 2023 (UTC) Hi Mark I have a much better one of Morris. I will put it on when I get back from Wales on Thursday. I'd just remove that one if that is OK?
