Abraham Fitzgibbon

Abraham Coates Fitz Gibbon was born on 23 January 1823. He trained as a Civil Engineer and was involved with railway projects in Ireland, USA, Ceylon, New Zealand and Australia. He was elected a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers in 1866 and returned to the UK in 1868.

He was elected a Director of the NWNGR at the shareholders half-yearly meeting on 24 May 1875 until resigning in 1884/85. He lived at The Rookery, Stanmore, Middx, later Moorside, Bushey Heath, Herts where he died on 4 April 1887.
