English translations

I think the English translations should be kept. They were never intended to be "official" translations nor was it meant to imply that the English versions were acceptable alternative names. However the Welsh place names do mean things and it is of interest to English speakers to know those meanings, especially as it makes it much easier to work out exactly where all the locations on the route are when you know what the names mean.

If there are concerns that it may appear the English versions are being promoted as "official" alternatives then the solution would be to insert a sentence at the beginning to clarify that this is not the case and that the translations are included for interest only.

I agree, and I note that the anonymous poster has only changed this page, leaving translated place names in place for the rest of the route. Feel free to restore the translations --Peter Harrison (talk) 22:41, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
