Polar Bear is a 2-4-0T built by Bagnall in 1905 (builder's number 1781) for the Groudle Glen Railway on the Isle of Man, following Sea Lion which was built in 1896.
Normally housed at the Amberley Museum in Sussex, the locomotive has travelled back to the Isle of Man on four occasions since 1993 (1993, 1996, 2005 and 2016). It was scheduled to attend the Quirks & Curiosities event on the FR from 30 April to 3 May 2010 but this did not happen due to a broken spring.
Polar Bear attended the second Quirks and Curiosities event in 2017.
